Um dem etwas entgegenzusetzen, initiierten drei Studierende des internationalen Masterstudiengangs \u201eGlobal Change Ecology\u201c (GCE) im Elitenetzwerk Bayern das Projekt \u201eKlimawald\u201c. Zusammen mit etwa 250 HelferInnen pflanzten sie Setzlinge klimatoleranter Baumarten auf einer Waldfl\u00e4che in Bayreuth ein. Das Interesse an dem Projekt ist gro\u00df und k\u00f6nnte in naher Zukunft auch an anderen Orten wiederholt werden.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201eKlimawald\u201c \u2013 Der Beginn<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Die gro\u00dffl\u00e4chigen Br\u00e4nde in Australien brachten den Einfluss des Klimawandels auf die W\u00e4lder zuletzt wieder in die \u00f6ffentliche Aufmerksamkeit. Der Klimawandel erh\u00f6ht jedoch nicht nur die Waldbrandgefahr, sondern stellt auch hierzulande die W\u00e4lder vor andere gro\u00dfe Probleme. Dies l\u00e4sst sich zurzeit in einigen Regionen Deutschlands beobachten, wo insbesondere die Fichten der Trockenheit und dem Borkenk\u00e4fer zum Opfer gefallen sind.<br>Um einen Bayreuther Wald besser an den Klimawandel anzupassen, initiierten die GCE-Studierenden Theresa Landwehr, Kun Woo Ro und Nikunj Pathak das Projekt \u201eKlimawald\u201c. In Kooperation mit mehreren Projektpartnern pflanzten die drei mit etwa 250 HelferInnen an drei Tagen Ende April 2019 mehr als 4.500 B\u00e4ume auf einer sturm- und d\u00fcrregesch\u00e4digten Waldfl\u00e4che. Die gepflanzten Baumarten waren zuvor von Experten ausgew\u00e4hlt worden und zeichnen sich neben der Klimatoleranz auch durch ihr wertvolles Holz aus. Mittlerweile ist der \u201eKlimawald\u201c zu einem Exkursionsziel geworden und es sollen weitere Fl\u00e4chen mit klimatoleranten Baumarten bepflanzt werden.<br>Die Idee des \u201eKlimawalds\u201c verbreitet sich auch au\u00dferhalb von Bayreuth: So haben sich zum Beispiel Studierende aus H\u00f6xter gemeldet, die ein \u00e4hnliches Projekt gerne bei sich durchf\u00fchren w\u00fcrden. Es soll aber nicht nur bei Deutschland bleiben. Gerade ist der GCE-Studierende Kun Woo Ro dabei die Projektidee weiter in sein Heimatland nach S\u00fcdkorea zu tragen.
