Session\u2019s theme:<\/strong> How can SDGs be enforced not only in national, but also in local level as well?
\nObjective:<\/strong> How cities can be made more open (in terms of access), resilient and livable?<\/p>\n

An interesting side event took place on the 13th of November at Bonn Zone (COP23, Bonn, Germany)\u00a0 with the purpose of \u201cHow transport sector (mobility) can be better leveraged with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?<\/strong>\u201d under the event \u2013 Global Climate Action and SDG 11 Round Tables: Creating Green and Inclusive Transport for Liveable and Resilient Cities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The meeting began with all the panelists sitting on their respective positions around the roundtable with respected Ms. Mary Cross, Head of Institutional Relations and Summit at the International Transport Forum (ITF), Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) serving as the moderator and thus conducting a short introductory round of all the panelists present.<\/p>\n

Ms. Mary, after an introductory round of all the speakers, emphasized on the point:<\/p>\n

\u201cTransport \u2013 is not fully a part of SDGs, but to achieve the salient features and ambitions of the SDG 11 i.e. \u201cSustainable Cities and Communities\u201d \u2013 \u2018transport sector\u2019 plays a pivotal role in achieving it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She also drew attention of the mass towards the target 11.2<\/strong> of the SDG 11<\/strong> which goes as:<\/p>\n

\u201cBy 2030, there should access to safe, affordable, accessible and sustainable transport systems for all, improving road safety, notably by expanding public transport, with special attention to the needs of those in vulnerable situations, women, children, persons with disabilities and older persons.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

A series of panelists thereafter with the session\u2019s theme and objective presented their talks as follows:<\/p>\n
