El Ni\u00f1o among other climatic processes in change are impacting the economic productivity and human security of communities and Cities living across the Latinamerican Pacific coast.<\/p>\n<p>With this economic and political backhground, three countries: Chile, Peru and Ecuador presented today the national measurements these neighbours are undertaking in order to adapt towards a changing climate.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>These efforts are of special relevance for COP23, as these countries have started multisectorial approaches to combat Climate Change with a top-down strategy.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Main Outcomes<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Alfonso Galarce<\/em> from the Chilean Climate Change Division, highlighted very concrete and Down-to-Earth Chilean initiatives to Combat Climate Change, i.e. making the Paris Agreement a National and Constitutional Law, promotion of Carbon markets and associated financial mechanisms and the innovative perspective of the country to achieve <span style=\"color: #339966;\">Energy transition<\/span> by 2050 with 90% of their energetic supply to become renewable.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_media-29\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-media-29\" style=\"width: 4160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1309\" src=\"https:\/\/globalchangeecology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_20171113_122125641.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_20171113_122125641.jpg\" width=\"4160\" height=\"2340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/globalchangeecology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_20171113_122125641.jpg 4160w, https:\/\/globalchangeecology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_20171113_122125641-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/globalchangeecology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_20171113_122125641-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/globalchangeecology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/IMG_20171113_122125641-1024x576.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 4160px) 100vw, 4160px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-media-29\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Alfonso Galarce &#8211; German Pavillion 13.11.17<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><em>Elsa Galarza<\/em>, Peruvian Minister of Environment,\u00a0 presented the multisectorial strategy launched together with other 12 Peruvian ministeries (Energy, Agricututre, Fishing, Housing, Transport, etc) to come up with an strategic plan to combat Climate Change from all possible governmental areas.
